1994 : Founding of the company

Agroland was founded in 1994 in Hardricourt by Maurice LANDIER, a former sales executive in the traditional fertilizers sector, with a specific focus on nitrogen. Initially focusing on the brokerage of conventional and commodity fertilizing materials for retailers and cooperatives, Maurice Landier soon turned his attention to the trading of raw materials for fertilization manufacturers.

2017 : New manager

Xavier PERCHE took over the structure in 2017 following the retirement of Maurice LANDIER. An agricultural engineer with 12 years’ industrial experience in innovative fertilizers and biostimulants, he develops the animal nutrition part and co-products for energy production (methanization, biomass boilers…) while reinforcing existing ranges.

Sourcing, Agroland’s key asset

On a day-to-day basis, Agroland is responsible both for sourcing and negotiating materials according to customer requirements, and for delivering them at a competitive price to their place of production, while adapting to their technical requirements. Each manufacturing factory in Europe has its own specificities and technological characteristics. Lastly, Agroland works as a dedicated buyer for fertilizer manufacturers, able to advise its customers. We are in close contact with suppliers to know what’s available and to negotiate large volumes in order to achieve optimized prices.

Knowledge of raw materials and their chemical and physical properties is essential. To source and reference them, we keep A careful eye on opportunities for the use of co-products and by-products to propose new competitive solutions.

Towards more natural solutions

Changes in agricultural practices are leading producers to look for new, more environmentally-friendly solutions. Agroland has specialized in this new market, while continuing to offer conventional raw materials (ammonium nitrate and potassium chloride, for example).

The new materials used in natural fertilization are for the most part industrial or agricultural co-products or by-products (e.g. cocoa shells, olive cakes (from olive pressing), coffee grounds, etc.).

Agroland plays an important part in the development of these products by its customers, and is developing new sourcing for Products that can be used in organic farming.

Control of the logistics chain

Logistics is an important point to master, as Agroland works with carriers throughout Europe.

In this context, we need to carefully evaluate technical requirements according to production sites and products (tipped bulk, Moving floor, tanker, etc.), and ensure the best quality/price ratio in order to be competitive.

Our ability to work in multiple languages enables us to operate directly in several countries.
